Ohio Beef Expo

It was good to see everyone at Ohio.  We were so busy at the booth that I didn't even get out to the barn to look at cattle on Saturday.

The Frozen Gold highlight was Smilin Bob's dam commanded at $15,000 winning bid for the right to flush her.

SLL Overload T18
uncategorized

The T18s were the second high selling and the largest sire group at the Spring Cove, Triple LLL sale in Idaho last week.  They averaged over $4000.00.  Top T18 brought $7600.00.  They had him on display and he was the ranchers favorite.  Scan data looks good and the grow and muscle is phenomenal.  He appears to be very calving ease, probably going below 1 on birth.  We will see.

Walks Alone
uncategorized

I haven't heard any huge birth weight issues with Walks Alone calves yet.  If that's the case, he's a must use sire for this year to make "chubby" steers!  I've heard BW reports from 80-100 with no calving problems.  I was a bit concerned that he might throw some big ones because he's so darned stout...but you'd better use him if there's no BW problems.
