It really doesn’t matter how many bulls you have in the lineup, when Bobby May calls you and says he’s found the next great one, you flat sit down and listen.
The Schlipf program is literally a pioneer in the Simmental breed and they have always had the good ones. This is one bull you had better study long and hard. When Bobby called he said “John, this bull has the rib and shape to make breds and the shape and design to sire show cattle. He’s the perfect size.” He used the word dense at least 10 times. Schipf’s summed it up, “One of those animals where it doesn’t matter if he’s standing in 3 feet of mud, it’s snowing or it’s 110 degrees out, he’s always looks like a stud.”
John made a spring run to South Dakota, we bought the bull off a video and Bobby May’s stamp of approval. When John saw him he called and said, “Jeannie, this is your kind.” We are pretty pumped to add him to the lineup. Big topped, big hipped, and “dense” made cattle are just our kind.
