SydGen KCF Gavel 8361 set a new record valuation for the annual SydGen fall sale when one third interest of him sold for $80,000 to the Mogck family in the 41st Annual SydGen Fall Sale, giving him a total valuation of $240,000.
In the 2023 SydGen sale, a son of Gavel sold half interest to Hoover Angus as the $20,000 top-selling spring bull calf with two fall yearling heifers selling as $13,000 sale features and in the 2022 SydGen sale, 16 fall bulls that included the $41,000 half interest top-selling bull of the sale commanded an average price of $9,516 with 13 Gavel daughters selling for an average valuation of $7,208 that included the third high-selling fall yearling at $26,000 and the featured Lot 1 that sold half interest for $15,000.
After producing the $135,000 record-selling bull of the Kenny Angus sale in Iowa in the spring of 2022, a bred heifer by Gavel offered the Number 1 $Combined value index of the 2021 SydGen Fall Sale among all the females offered and the seven Gavel daughters featured there sold for an average of $5,614.
In the 2021 SydGen sale, three spring 2021 Gavel bull calves dominated the calf crop with projected 365 days weights of 1,544, 1,537 and 1,479 pounds and they were headlined by the $19,000 half interest top-selling spring bull calf and a fall yearling that sold half interest for $20,000 as the third high-seller of his age division and one of only two sons of Gavel born at SydGen in 2020 was the $21,000 half interest top-selling bull in 2021.
Produced by the $54,000 valued Fortress daughter SydGen chosen by Eddie Sydenstricker from the 2017 Bases Loaded sale at the National Western, this great-grandson of the ORIgen legend Hoover Dam has the potential to carry on the legacy of the sire line that has set the standard of excellence at ORIgen.
